I’m Tom Busillo. I build software, mostly for the parts of a product nobody sees.
I started in the Marine Corps as a signals intelligence operator, then spent five years at the Department of Homeland Security, where I ran operations for an intelligence division and built the web app it ran on.
At TestPros I split my time between accessibility and security: auditing products against WCAG, writing more than a hundred VPATs, assessing systems for FedRAMP, and building an automated accessibility testing tool. Since 2022 I’ve been at Deque Systems, now as a Staff Full Stack Engineer, working on billing, enterprise provisioning, licensing and the infrastructure underneath them.
Outside of work I make small apps. Seaglass is a private sober day counter that keeps everything on your phone, Back & Forth is a shared journal for parents and kids who live apart, and Keystone Codex is my field manual of Mythic+ and raid strategies for melee DPS in World of Warcraft. I write here about how they’re made.
Away from the keyboard, I play tennis, mostly singles, and I run. I’m training for the Jacksonville Marathon in December 2026. Back at the keyboard, I play World of Warcraft, both retail and Forever.
